Phoenix, AZ—A new poll released today from the Democracy Defense Project reveals Arizona voters continue to have concerns about election integrity which is impacting confidence in the upcoming 2024 election. The poll conducted September 25-29 by National Research Inc. surveyed Arizona voters on prominent issues this election cycle including trust in national and local elections.

Currently, 8 in 10 registered Republicans continue to believe the 2020 election was stolen from former President Donald Trump, even though overwhelming evidence in Arizona and other swing states have proven otherwise. Despite the relative overall trust –excluding Republicans– in the 2020 results, 6-in-10 Arizona voters are concerned about voting irregularities heading into the November 2024 election. This includes majorities of Independents and Republicans. Democrats are relatively split, despite their high level of trust in the 2020 elections, due to concerns of voter intimidation and misinformation.

Even though there are broad and deep differences according to partisan affiliation, there are also areas of agreement when it comes to some of the biggest threats to the integrity of our elections and ways to combat these threats, many of which are current laws and processes in Arizona.

“Although local elected officials have gone above and beyond to inform the public about the election safeguards in place in Arizona, many voters are still unaware of the facts,” said Representative Daniel Hernandez. “At a time when we are headed into one of the most important and contentious elections of our lifetime, it is critical that we continue to educate those individuals that a lot of the election concerns are already being addressed by the very robust election laws in place.”

“Arizona is the gold standard when it comes to election integrity with many of the systems and checks that were established under decades of Republican leadership,” said Congressman Matt Salmon. “Leaders need to lead. This is why we need more leaders from both parties to speak out to combat the misinformation that has been circulating for four years, negatively impacting the perception of our elections. The only way we can restore voter confidence in the system is to have trusted voices speak about the truth loud and often.”
