Former Congressman Scott Klug is a Milwaukee native who represented Madison in the US House. After a 14-year career as an Emmy award winning reporter he upset a 32-year Democratic Congressman. Despite winning 4 elections by an average margin of 62% he stayed true to his term limit pledge and retired. He had the 3rd most independent voting record of any Wisconsin Member of Congress in the last 50 years. He is the creator of the popular podcast “Lost in the Middle: America’s Political Orphans.” And Co-Chair of the federal public affairs practice at the national law firm of Foley & Lardner.

Former Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes served as the 45th lieutenant governor of Wisconsin from 2019 to 2023 after previously serving in the Wisconsin State Assembly as a state representative from 2013 to 2017. A Democrat hailing from Milwaukee, Lt. Governor Barnes grew up in a working class family with his mom working as a school teacher and his father on an assembly line building catalytic converters. A graduate of Alabama A&M University, Lt. Governor Barnes got his start as a field organizer working in the interfaith space.

Former Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen served as the state’s top law enforcement official from 2007 to 2015. Born in Chetek and raised in Delta, Attorney General Van Hollen is an attorney and a Republican who served as the Ashland and Bayfield Counties District Attorney before being appointed as the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin by President George W. Bush. A graduate of St. Olaf’s College and the University of Wisconsin Law School, Attorney General Van Hollen was elected to his former post following his tenure in the Bush administration.

Mike Tate is the former chairman of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin and has spent over 25 years working in electoral politics and advocacy, as well as an advisor to private businesses. One of the youngest state party leaders of his time, Mr. Tate built the state party from a historically weak entity to one of the most well-funded state parties in the nation. Over the course of his career, he has worked consistently to build and manage large scale communication plans, legislative lobbying efforts, political and voter contact operations, joint fundraising activity, coalition building, earned media campaigns and grassroots organizing efforts. He is currently the Principal at Wavecrest Consulting and Analytics.
