Atlanta, GA – Georgia Board Members of the Democracy Defense Project, a bipartisan group of former elected officials and leaders who are committed to free and fair elections, applauded record-breaking turnout in the Peach State.

“The 2024 election cycle was one for the record books and we are incredibly proud of the state and local elections officials who worked around the clock to ensure that the votes of 5.2 million Georgians were properly counted, tabulated, and reported.

“We are also grateful for the media, elected officials, and community leaders who were instrumental in combatting misinformation and educating the electorate on how elections are conducted in the Peach State.

“This election was secure and fair, and the democratic process, where every vote and voice matters, worked. We are fortunate to live in this great state and country, and look forward to continuing our efforts to safeguard democracy for generations to come.”

Democracy Defense Project – Georgia Board Members include former Governor Nathan Deal (R), former Governor Roy Barnes (D), former U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss (R), and former Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin (D).
