Atlanta, GA – Today, Georgia Board Members of the Democracy Defense Project, a bipartisan group of former elected officials and leaders who are committed to free and fair elections, applauded the Georgia Supreme Court for upholding a Fulton County Judge’s ruling against new election rules passed by the State Election Board.

“Members of the State Election Board overstepped their authority and made directives that would have delayed results, created chaos, and ultimately sowed distrust in the democratic process.  The Georgia Supreme Court’s ruling is a big win in the fight to maintain confidence in our elections.”

Democracy Defense Project – Georgia Board Members include former Governor Nathan Deal (R), former Governor Roy Barnes (D), former U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss (R), and former Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin (D).
