Atlanta, GA – Former Governor Roy Barnes (D), who is a Georgia Board Member of the Democracy Defense Project, responded to former Georgia House Minority Leader Stacey Abrams’ accusations about Early Voting in Georgia.

“Georgians from all four corners of our great state are showing up in record numbers to make their voices heard at the ballot box. While some, like Stacey Abrams, claim it’s difficult to vote, the data and facts simply do not support that baseless accusation.

“In the final days of this election,  we should urge all Georgians to exercise their fundamental right to vote rather than advance false narratives about the difficulty of participating in the democratic process. Our elections are secure, accessible, and fair, and we can trust the results to be accurately tabulated, reported, and certified.”

The Democracy Defense Project is a bipartisan group of former elected officials and leaders who are committed to free and fair elections.
