FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

September 12, 2024

Las Vegas, NV – Democracy Defense Project Nevada (DDP) commended the recent cleanup of Nevada’s voter database, resulting in the inactivation of over 138,000 voters. This cleanup follows the implementation of the Voter Registration and Election Management Solution (VREMS), further solidifying Nevada’s dedication to maintaining its electoral integrity.

“As Nevada prepares to play a pivotal role in the upcoming electoral landscape, it is vital that we set the standard for election security, transparency, and integrity,” said Former Governor Brian Sandoval, Co-Chair of DDP Nevada. “The thorough clean-up of the state’s voter rolls means 138,000 ballots will not be mailed to people who are no longer in Nevada and helps strengthen the integrity of our elections.”

Richard Perkins, Co-Chair of DDP Nevada, also emphasized the importance of the recent inactivation of inactive voters: “This initiative showcases a strong commitment to enhancing electoral honesty and efficiency. The removal of these outdated registrations is essential for ensuring that our voter rolls are accurate and up to date, which is critical for the integrity of our electoral process.”

DDP Nevada anticipates significant advancements in the electoral landscape as a result of these initiatives. We are dedicated to partnering with election officials to ensure that these improvements are effectively realized, and that Nevada continues to uphold its reputation for election integrity ahead of the 2024 General Election.
