Columbus, Ohio – Following Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost’s recent announcement that six individuals have been indicted for voting illegally in past elections, Democracy Defense Project (DDP) Ohio Board Members J. Kenneth Blackwell and Zack Space issued the following joint statement:

“We applaud Attorney General Yost and his law enforcement partners for their diligent efforts to protect the sanctity of voting in Ohio and ensure every legal vote is cast without the threat of being negated by an unlawful one. Importantly, instances of voter fraud remain exceptionally rare in our state, and this announcement should only bolster confidence in the many bipartisan measures in place to protect the security of our state’s elections process.”

DDP Ohio works to defend the transparency, safety, security and validity of Ohio’s elections system. Former Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell (R-OH) and former United States Congressman Zack Space (D-OH) serve as board members in the state.
